HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i head women's basketball coach Dana Takahara-Dias announced today the signing of Kamilah Jackson to a national letter of intent. Jackson is the third member of the 2010-11 recruiting class under Takahara-Dias.
Jackson comes to UH from Sacred Heart Cathedral in San Francisco, and will enter next season as a freshman.
As a senior in high school, the 6-foot Jackson averaged 25 points and 17 rebounds, and was named to the California Division III all-state team. She helped her team win two Division III state championships her sophomore and junior seasons and was nominated to the McDonald's All-American Team her senior season.
Over her career, she was named a three-time all-state player, three-time all Northern California and three-time league champion. In 2008, her team finished ranked No. 1 in the USA Today final rankings. Jackson's team also went 33-0 and had a 60-game winning streak during her career.
As a junior Jackson averaged 16 points and 13 rebounds and as a sophomore she averaged 12 points and 12 rebounds, averaging a double-double for three straight seasons.
