Women's Basketball Inks Carlotta Mingo For 2010-11 Season

HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i women's basketball head coach Dana Takahara-Dias announced the signing of Carlotta Mingo, a 6-foot junior college transfer, for the upcoming season.
 
A native of the South American country Guyana, Mingo played two years at Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. In 29 games played last year, she averaged 6.4 points and 10.7 rebounds per game, the latter of which ranked third in Region 19. She also shot 41 percent from the field and had 34 blocks.
 
Mingo began playing basketball at the age of 14 when she moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., where she is a 2008 graduate of South Shore High School.
 
Mingo is the fourth player to sign with the Rainbow Wahine for the 2010-11 season joining guards Sydney Haydel and Keianna Evans, and forward Kamilah Jackson.
