ORLEANS, Mass. – University of Hawai'i second baseman
Kolten Wong has been named to the Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game, representing his Orleans Firebirds for the East Division team. The All-Star Game will be played at Fenway Park on Wednesday, July 28.
Wong has had a monster summer thus far for the Firebirds, as he is second in the league in batting (.342), fourth in stolen bases (17), third in on-base percentage (.425) and just one off the league-lead with three home runs. The Cape Cod league is an all-wooden bat league that is widely considered the best collegiate summer league in the country.
The junior to be has had a great two years with the Rainbows, earning first-team all-WAC honors twice while being named the WAC Tournament MVP and to the all-regional team at the NCAA Tempe Regional this past season.
