No. 6 Rainbow Wahine Host Verizon Wireless Volleyball Challenge

Match Notes

HONOLULU – The No. 6 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team (5-1) looks to rebound off their first loss of the season, hosting San Diego State, UC Irvine and St. Mary's for the Verizon Wireless Rainbow Wahine Volleyball Challenge from Thursday, Sept. 9, to Saturday, Sept. 11.

Hawai'i dropped two spots in the AVCA Coaches Poll after losing to then No. 10 Southern California in five sets this past Sunday.

All three teams in the challenge bring in rosters with ties to Hawai'i. San Diego State is coached by former Rainbow Wahine All-American Deitre Collins. UC Irvine is led by Punahou graduate Larissa Nordyke while St. Mary's boasts 'Iolani graduate Kapua Kamana'o, who is also the younger sister of former UH All-American Kanoe Kamana'o.
