Rainbow Wahine Golf Concludes Dick McGuire Invite

Final Results

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team earned a 17th place finish at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, Saturday, at the University of New Mexico Championship Course. The Rainbow Wahine carded rounds of 328, 318, and 319 for a 965 total.
 
Top-finisher for UH was sophomore Brigitte Baker, who sunk five birdies on the tournament. Baker finished strong with a three-over, 76 in the final round to tie for 39th place at 10-over par (79-74-76=229).
 
Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine were freshman Charlee Kapiioho (80-80-84=244/T79th), freshman Madeleine Ystrom (83-80-82=245/T83rd), sophomore Ka'ili Britos (86-84-81=251/T88th), and senior Brittany Bomar (86-87-80=253/T91st).
 
Oregon won the team title by carding an impressive 290 in the final round, overtaking leader through the first two rounds, No. 24 Ohio State. The Ducks finished with a five-over, 881 (295-296-290). Individually, Erica Omlid of Oregon took first place at eight-under par (70-72-69=211). She finished just one stroke ahead of second place winner, Rachel Rohanna of Ohio State.
 
In nine days, UH will head to Oregon to compete in the Portland State/Oregon State Invitational, Sept. 27 through 28.
