Women’s Sailing Competes At PCCSC Singlehanded Championships

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine sailing team kicked off its season at the PCCSC Women's Singlehanded Championship on Saturday. Four sailors competed for UH with Hannah Tuson-Turner the top finisher in fourth place.
 
Sarah Mace (28 points) and Molly McKinney (33) from Stanford finished first and second, respectively. The pair qualified for the 2010 ICSA/LaserPerformance Singlehanded National Championship to be held in November in Tampa, Fl.
 
Tucson-Turner was 26 points off the pace with a total of 54 points. Also sailing for UH were Laura Hughes  (9th, 75 points), Tahnee Allman (10th, 88 points) and Madeline Kennedy (11th, 102 points). A total of 14 sailors were in the field with 10 races completed on the day.
 
Next up for the Rainbow Wahine is the Bryson Women's Intersectional, Oct. 2-3, in Stanford, Calif.
