Fast Times at Stanford Invite: Punahou Girls Respectable 12th Overall in Seeded Varsity 5k Race

The Punahou Girls Varsity Cross Country team placed 12th overall in the Girls Varsity 5K Cross Country race at the prestigious Stanford Cross Country Invitational, held 9/25 in Palo Alto, CA.

 

2010 HHSAA Cross Country Champ SO Elli Brady led the Lady Buffanblu charge, finishing 28th overall in a Hawaii state-leading/MileSplit Second Team Elite time of 19:07. She was aided in the rankings by teammates JR Kyleigh Mann (MileSplit Second Team Elite, 19:34), SO Melissa Wong (19:58), FR Noe Lum (19:58), FR Hallie Lam (20:12), SO Jaime Durso (20:22) and SR Julia Brand (20:50).

In addition, Punahou fielded a team in the Girls Division 3 5K race, placing 18th out of 27 scoring teams.

 

JR Kacie Won (21:15) led the Lady Buffanblu in that race, and was assisted in the scoring by FR Katie Brady (21:40), JR Monica Woolley (22:09), JR Kara Tsuzaki (22:25), JR Maya Grossman (22:49), JR Tama Fukuyama (23:44) and SR Clarissa Liu (23:53).

The Lady Buffanblu return home to Honolulu, HI and will host the Punahou Cross Country Invitational this Saturday 10/2.
