Britos Finishes Third At Rose City Collegiate; Wahine Place Fifth

Final Results

AURORA, Oregon – University of Hawai'i women's golfer Ka'ili Britos took third place at the Rose City Collegiate, Tuesday, at the Langdon Farms Golf Club. She posted a career-low 218 (+2) with rounds of 75, 69, and 74.

Britos sunk 40 pars on the tournament, and was fifth in par-3 scoring and fourth in par-4 scoring. She was also the only golfer to post a round under 70. Her third-place finish is second only to her second place finish in last season's WAC Championships.

Senior Brittany Bomar earned her best career-finish by tying for 14th at nine-over par (75-74-76=225). She was followed by sophomore Brigitte Baker (79-76-76=231/T26th), junior Erika Lundberg (80-76-80=236/T45th), and freshman Charlee Kapiioho (78-78-82=238/T51st).

As a team, the Rainbow Wahine earned fifth place with rounds of 307, 295, and 306. Their 908 three-round total is the best of any tournament since October of 2007, when they posted a 906 at the Heather Farr Memorial.

Whitney French (71-72-72=215) of Oregon State and Kelsey Kipp (71-74-70=215) of North Texas went head-to-head after finishing the tournament tied for first at one-under par. Following almost three hours of play through 12 playoff holes, Kipp came out on top to capture the individual title.

Taking the team title was North Texas at 25-over par (295-303-291=889).

In two weeks, the Rainbow Wahine hit the course again, competing in the Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational in Las Cruces, N.M.
