TULSA, Okla. –University of Hawai`i men's tennis player Dennis Lajola opened his 2010-11 senior campaign by dropping a tough three-set loss in the qualifiers of the D'Novo/ITA All-American Championships, Oct. 4 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

 

Lajola lost to Luis Grangeiro of Baylor 6-7 (7), 6-4, 7-6 (3) in the first round of the qualifying stage. The native of 'Aiea, O'ahu, will be back in action tomorrow with a consolation match against Steven Eelkman Rooda of Virginia.

 

Doubles action will also start up tomorrow with Lajola and Jeremy Tweedt, as well as the freshman pair of Jared Spiker and Jonathan Brooklyn competing in the qualifiers.
