HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team wrapped up action in the final day of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational Saturday at the UH Tennis Complex.
The Rainbow Wahine hosted local schools Chaminade and Hawai'i Pacific with both singles and doubles competition over the course of three days. Eight Rainbow Wahine players were in action on Saturday as UH won four of five doubles match-ups, but did not fare as well in singles, capturing three of seven courts.
The duo of
Alyssa Nafarrete and
Aglae Van den Bergh were perfect in doubles play. The duo shutout the HPU team of Amy Provost and Florie Paquay 8-0 then duplicated the effort against Silkie Kawahakui and Stacey Chaussoy of Chaminade. Meanwhile, UH picked up just three wins in singles competition, however they were all in dominant fashion.
Dasha Lagmay,
Katarina Poljakova and
Mari Tadaki all won in straight sets as the trio dropped just three games combined.
Next up for the Rainbow Wahine is the ITA Regionals, Oct. 21-25, in San Diego, Calif.
