Women’s Golf Opens Play At Give ‘Em Five Invite

Round 1 Results

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team carded a 311 in the first round of the Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational, Monday, at the New Mexico State University Golf Course. The Rainbow Wahine are currently in a three-way tie for 12th along with Cal-State Northridge and  Seattle.
 
Leading UH is freshman Madeleine Ystrom of Haninge Sweden. In her second collegiate tournament appearance, Ystrom is tied for 41st at five-over par (77).
 
The remaining competing Rainbow Wahine are in a tie for 52nd. Sophomore Ka'ili Britos, junior Erika Lundberg, and senior Brittany Bomar all posted a first-round 78 (+6).
 
Leading the team standings is Baylor (285), followed closely by UC Irvine (286). Jaclyn Jansen of Baylor has a commanding lead individually after firing a seven-under, 65. She goes into Day 2 with a four shot lead.
 
The tournament continues Tuesday with the second round, and concludes Wednesday with the third and final round.
