Match Notes
HONOLULU – The No. 4 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team returns to the court after having an idle week, hosting San Jose State and Fresno State in a couple of Western Athletic Conference matches at the Stan Sheriff Center on Oct. 15 and 17.
Hawai'i had a week off after sweeping two matches, at New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech, on their first road trip of the season.
UH moved up in the AVCA Coaches Poll this week to No. 4 after a week of many upsets in college volleyball, where six of the top 10 teams in the poll suffered at least one loss. Hawai'i received two first place votes in the poll, the first time UH had first place votes since the 2005 preseason poll.
After the match vs. San Jose State on Friday will the 'Ohana Hoopfest, the fans' first chance to get a glimpse at the UH men's and women's basketball teams. The event will feature entertainment, a celebrity scrimmage and an autograph session by both teams.

When: Friday, Oct. 15 (7 p.m.), Sunday, Oct. 17 (5 p.m.)
Where: Stan Sheriff Center
Television: KFVE (Ch. 5) will televise the matches this week with Jim Leahey handling the play-by-play and Lisa Strand-Ma'a doing color commentary. All matches will be replayed at 10:30 p.m. that night.
Radio: ESPN 1420 (1420 AM) will broadcast the matches this week, live with Scott Robbs handling the play-by-play.
Promotions: American Savings Bank is the match sponsor on Friday and the first 1,000 fans to enter the arena will receive stress balls. Oceanic Time Warner Cable is the match sponsor on Sunday and 2,000 seat cushions will be distributed and a $500 gas gift card will be awarded during the promotional activity between game two and three. Fans can register at the sports marketing table inside Gate A for the chance to win great prizes.
