Rainbow Wahine In 13th At Give ‘Em Five Invite

Round 2 Results

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team is in 13th place after two rounds of the Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational, Tuesday, at the New Mexico State University Golf Course. The Rainbow Wahine shaved five strokes off their first round score, carding a second-round 306 for a 617 total (311-306).
 
Freshman Madeleine Ystrom fired an even-par, 72, to lead UH with a 149 (77-72). Ystrom moved up 18 places from the first round and goes into the final day tied for 23rd. She is also one of only five players to sink a birdie on the tournament, along with fellow Wahine sophomore Brigitte Baker.
 
Also competing for UH are sophomore Ka'ili Britos (78-77=155/T55th), junior Erika Lundberg (78-78=156/T57th), senior Brittany Bomar (78-80=158/T63rd), and Brigitte Baker with a second-round 79.
 
Host New Mexico State and Baylor are tied for first at four-over par (580). Both teams will have a seven-shot lead over UTEP going into the final round. Individually, Jaclyn Jansen of Baylor leads at four-under par (65-75=140).
 
The tournament concludes Wednesday with the third and final round.
