Swimming And Diving Open Season At Home Against Seattle

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's and women's swimming and diving teams kick off their season this weekend in a dual-meet against Seattle at home in the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
 
The meet will begin on Friday, Oct. 15 at 4:00 p.m. and will continue on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 12:00 p.m.
 
UH welcomes a total of 20 newcomers to the swimming and diving program. The Rainbow Warrior swimmers take in nine freshmen Frank Chi, Christopher Dominguez, Thomas Fee, Jason Frifeldt, Jayson Hagi, Ryan Pickett, Damon Pitre, Drew Sacoman, Ian Wheeler along with two transfers Ben Campbell and Cody Miller. Sophomore Luke Hayes and freshman Scott Wandersee add depth to an already successful group of divers.
 
Three freshmen, Alyssa Foo, Sofia Mustelin, and Stephanie Rebro along with five transfers Rachel Cote, Haydn Maclean, Marcail McLean, Christa Prior and Madeline Takaki are welcomed as the eight new swimmers for the Rainbow Wahine.
 
Last year the Rainbow Wahine finished their season in sixth at the WAC Championship (Feb. 24-27) while the Rainbow Warriors placed second at the CUSA Championship (Feb. 24-27). Four UH divers competed and placed in the NCAA Zone E Meet (March 11-13).
