After an off-week, the University of Hawai'i women's cross country team is back in action and will participate in the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational, Saturday, Oct. 16 at Baylands Park in Santa Clara, Calif.
The field includes 31 teams from seven states. The Rainbow Wahine will compete in the women's invitational portion of the meet which begins at 9:00 a.m. PT.
The Rainbow Wahine will send a contingent of eight athletes, including top runner Ashley Aitken, who won the Big Wave Invitational, placed third at the season-opening BYU-Hawai'i Invitational, and was fifth at the Willamette Invitational two weeks ago in Salem, Ore.
UH's “B” team will also be in action this week at the BYU-Hawai'i Open in La'ie, O'ahu. The Rainbow Wahine will compete against the state's Division II programs.

Last season, the Rainbow Wahine placed ninth overall at the Bronco Invitational, but more importantly was third among six Western Athletic Conference schools which helped to determine seedings for the championship meet. Aitken set a new personal best, completing the 5K course in 17:23 to place sixth individually.
What's Next: UH's “B” team will compete in the HPU Invitational, Saturday, Oct. 23 at Kualoa Ranch on the windward side of O'ahu while the main squad will ready themselves for the WAC Championships, Saturday, Oct. 30 in Moscow, Idaho.
