Vote For Bryant Moniz For Davey O’Brien Award

University of Hawai'i quarterback Bryant Moniz is the national leader in passing and total offense this season and fans have the opportunity to help him become one of 16 semifinalists for the Davey O'Brien Award, which is awarded to the nation's top quarterback.
 
Fans may vote for Moniz on the Davey O'Brien website (www.voteobrien.org) until 12:00 p.m. CT / 7:00 a.m. HT on Sunday, Oct. 24. Fans may vote as often as once daily and will count for 5% of the overall Semifinalist vote.
 
This season, Moniz is averaging 361.7 passing yards per game with 21 touchdowns and just four interceptions on 65.7 completion percentage. He also leads the nation in total offense (371.6), ranks sixth in points responsible for (18.3), and 13th in passing efficiency (162.5). He has passed for 300 or more yards five times, including a career-best 532 yards against Louisiana Tech, which was the sixth highest single-game total in school history.
 
Last season after becoming the team's starter just four games into the season, Moniz finished with 2,396 yards passing and 14 touchdowns while completing 57.1 percent of his passes. He began his collegiate career at Fresno City College in 2007 before transferring to UH and sitting out the 2008 season.
 
The 16 semifinalists will be announced, Monday, Oct. 25 which will be trimmed to three on Monday, Nov. 22. The 2010 O'Brien Winner will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN on Dec. 9 and will be honored at the 34th Annual O'Brien Awards Dinner on Feb. 21, 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas.
