Men’s Golf In Third At Kaua‘i Collegiate Invite

Round 2 Results

LIHUE, Kaua'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team completed the second round of the Kaua'i Collegiate Invitational, Monday, at the Puakea Golf Course. UH has two squads competing in the tournament, one which is in third place (299-283=582) and the other which is in eighth (305-302=607).
 
Leading the Warriors is junior #T.J. Kua# in a tie for third place. Kua improved his first-round score by one stroke, ending the day at three-under par (71-70=141). Sophomore Henry Park is just two-strokes back of Kua, firing a career-low 67 in the second round to move into a tie for seventh place (76-67=143).
 
Also competing for UH is sophomore Alex Chu who is tied for 13th place (75-72=147). Freshmen Tommy Yamashita (77-74=151) and Nainoa Calip (75-76=151) are tied for 28th, junior Jared Sawada (80-72=152) is tied for 33rd, while sophomore Cory Oride (75-78=153) and senior Kamden Brakel (77-76=153) are tied for 35th place. Rounding out the squads are junior Pono Calip (78-78=156/44th) and senior Chris Estes (95-88=183/53rd).
 
Leading the team standings is San Diego at 16-under par (281-279=560) with its own Gunner Wiebe still leading individually with a 137 (66-71).
 
The tournament concludes Tuesday with the third and final round.
