STANFORD, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine sailing team finished second at the PCCSC Fall Championships held Oct.30-31 in Redwood Shores. Host Stanford took home the regatta title.
UH finished with 66points, just one point behind Stanford. A total of 24 races—12 in the A division and 12 in the B division—were completed during the two-day event, which featured seven West Coast schools.
Once again the Rainbow Wahine were led by
Hannah Tuson-Turner who captured the A division with the assistance of crew member
Hanne Nagatani. The pair totaled 26 points after finishing first in six of 12 races. UH finished second in the B division totaling 41 points behind the efforts of
Madeline Kennedy and
Holly Nishiguchi.
The Rainbow Wahine closed out the fall season and will be back in the water in the spring, starting with the Peter Wenner Rainbow Invitational in January.
