Warriors Face Broncos In Battle Of WAC's Top Teams

Game Notes

The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team will take its unbeaten Western Athletic Conference record to No. 2 Boise State in a pivotal league contest, Saturday, Nov. 6, at Bronco Stadium. Kick-off is 1:30 p.m. (9:30 a.m. HT) and the game will be televised nationally on ESPNU.

The Warriors (7-2, 5-0 WAC) are coming off a 45-10 victory over Idaho last week at Aloha Stadium. The win marked UH's sixth consecutive and earned the Warriors a spot to this year's Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl on Christmas Eve. Quarterback Bryant Moniz accounted for four touchdowns and passed for 326 yards and three scores while safety Mana Silva had nine tackles and a key interception. Both were named WAC players of the week for their efforts.

The Broncos (7-0, 3-0) extended their nation's longest win streak to 21 games after defeating Louisiana Tech 49-20 last week. Still the Broncos dropped to No. 4 in the latest BCS standings despite a No. 2 ranking in the Associated Press poll and No. 3 spot in the USA Today/Coaches poll. Quarterback Kellen Moore leads the potent Bronco offense which ranks second and fifth nationally in scoring (47.7) and total offense (516.0).

BSU has won eight of the nine WAC meetings between the schools, including a 27-7 victory at Bronco Stadium in 2008. The Warriors' only win against the Broncos in WAC play occurred in 2007, which gave UH the outright WAC championship.
