HONOLULU—The Univeristy of Hawai`i women's basketball team surged past the BYU-Hawai`i Seasiders, 73-49. Jackson had 11 points and a team-high 11 rebounds, while Arbuckle had 10 points,10 boards, and seven blocks.

The Rainbow Wahine overcame a slow start in the first half to eventually pull away from BYU-H on runs of 16 and 12 points respectively in the second half. The 'Bows out-rebounded the Seasiders 45-32 and blocked a total of 13 shots on the night. A total of four UH players had double digits in points—Kuehu, Arbuckle, Jackson, and Allie Patterson, who had 10 points.

Kuehu finished the game with seven rebounds, four steals, three assists, and three blocked shots. Arbuckle also had two steals and two assists to go with her double-double performance.

Hawai`i came back from a seven point deficit mid-way through the first half with a nine point run of their own and never looked back. In that first half, Kuehu led UH with nine points along with two blocks, two steals, and three rebounds. Arbuckle and Jackson both chipped in eight points a piece. Arbuckle added two rebounds and three blocks, while Jackson grabbed a team-high six boards.

For BYU-Hawai`i, the first half was the Richelle Rieben show as she led the Seasiders with 16 points—hitting four-of-seven shots from beyond the arc. But the UH defense shut-out Rieben in the second half, not allowing her to score in the second half.

The Rainbow Wahine are now 2-0 in exhibition games this season. They officially open the 2010-11 campaign with the Jack in the Box Rainbow Wahine Classic next Friday, Nov. 19 against CS Northridge at 7:00 p.m.
