UH Bids Aloha To Seniors In Regular Season Finale

Match Notes

HONOLULU – The No. 3 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team concludes the regular season with its annual Senior Night match against Idaho, Thursday, Nov. 18 at the Stan Sheriff Center. First serve for the Western Athletic Conference contest is 7:00 p.m.

The match is the final regular season home contest for seniors Dani Mafua and Elizabeth Ka'aihue. Mafua entered the program in 2006 out of Mid-Pacific Institute and has been the team's starting setter the past three years. Ka'aihue came from Punahou School in 2007 and will leave the program among the school's all-time leaders in digs.

The Rainbow Wahine (26-1, 15-0 WAC) wrapped up the WAC regular season championship following last week's road sweep of Fresno State, San Jose State, and Nevada. The regular season championship is the 16th straight for UH, who is looking to extend its conference win streak to 41. Hawai'i is also looking to become the first team in school history to go through a conference season without losing a set. UH has won all 15 WAC matches in straight sets and has a new school-record streak of 56 sets won dating back to the Saint Mary's match on Sept. 11.

The Vandals (13-13, 8-7) enter the match in third place in the WAC standings, despite losing twice during their recent three-match homestand, including Monday's four-set loss to Fresno State.
