HONOLULU – The No. 3 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team (27-1, 16-0 WAC) concluded its regular-season with a 25-18, 25-17 and 25-13 sweep over the Idaho Vandals (13-14, 8-8 WAC) at the Stan Sheriff Center on Senior Night. Seniors Dani Mafua and Elizabeth Ka'aihue made their final home appearance and were honored following the conclusion of the match.

With the win, UH completed a perfect Western Athletic Conference season, captured its 41st straight conference match and became the first team in school history to go through the conference season without dropping a set. UH has won their last 59 sets this season, extending a school record set in its last match.

In their final home appearances Mafua directed the UH offense that hit .327 as a team, posting 42 assists and six digs, while Ka`aihue logged in 12 digs, four assists and two service aces.

Kanani Danielson led the way with 18 kills and 12 blocks. Chanteal Satele posted 11 kills, while Brittany Hewitt and Michelle Waber were strong in the middle, each posting nine kills and hitting .421 and .471, respectively.

UH came out flat in set one as Idaho scored  the first three points and took an 8-2 lead as a stunned Stan Sheriff Center crowd looked on. The Rainbow Wahine stormed back behind Danielson's eight kills as UH out-scored the Vandals, 23-9, the rest of the way.

In the second set, the teams traded points and it was tied, 6-6, early on. But the Rainbow Wahine created distance with five unanswered points that started a 12-3 run as UH won the second set by a 25-17 score.

UH steamrolled to a 25-13 win in the third and final set to complete the sweep. The Rainbow Wahine hit .444 in the final set and scored 19 of the match's final 26 points to put the finishing touches for a Senior Night win.

The Rainbow Wahine now head to Las Vegas, Nev., for the 2010 WAC Tournament, Nov. 22-24. UH has won 10 straight conference tournament titles.
