HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team continued its hot early-season start with an 83-69 win over Central Arkansas Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center. The Rainbow Warriors improved to 4-0 with their third double-digit win of the young season.

UH put it into high gear to remain undefeated. All 12 players who suited saw action by halftime as the Rainbow Warriors used a balanced attack and some hot shooting early on to coast to the win.

Zane Johnson tallied 15 points and Bo Barnes added 14 as the pair combined to nail eight of UH's 10 three-pointers. Bill Amis also scored 15 points with 11 of those coming in the first half. Meanwhile, Joston Thomas was one rebound short of a double-double, posting 12 points and nine rebounds.

Central Arkansas actually held a five-point lead midway through the first half. But UH went on a decisive 21-4 run, capped by back-to-back three pointers by Barnes to give the 'Bows a 36-24 lead. UH eventually took a 16-point lead into the locker room on the strength of six three pointers and 60 percent shooting.

UH began to pour it on after the half and built is lead to as many as 23 points just five minutes into the second half. At one point UH fielded four true freshmen on the court.  Central Arknsas did make a run and eventually chipped the lead to single digits with less than a minute left, but the outcome was never in doubt and it was too little, too late for the Bears (1-2).

Hawai'i ended the game shooting 55 percent from the field, including 10-of-19 from three-point land. The 'Bows also out-rebounded the Bears, 38-26, and shot 11-of-14 from the line, all of which help off-set a season-high 23 turnovers.

The Rainbow Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 24 when they take on Arkansas Pine-Bluff. Tipoff is 7:00 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.
