Several Hawaii high school athletes recorded personal bests at meets held April 25.
Oscar Reed (Hawaii Preparatory Academy) ran 9:59.87 in the boys' 3000 meters at the Frosh/Soph Invitational, improving from his previous best of 10:23.46 set in April 2026. Reed finished third of nine competitors and ranks 46th in the state.
Alaska Delangen (Kealakehe) clocked 12.57 in the girls' 100 meters at the Frosh/Soph Invitational, bettering her previous mark of 12.92 from April 2026. Delangen won the event against 47 competitors and ranks 10th in Hawaii.
Kalia Aina (Kamehameha Schools Hawaii) ran 13.09 in the girls' 100 meters at the Frosh/Soph Invitational, improving from 13.41. The freshman placed second of 47 competitors and ranks 31st in the state and fourth among freshmen. Aina also set a personal best in the 400 meters, running 1:05.49 compared to her previous mark of 1:05.55.
Vivek Varricatt (Waiakea) ran 4:35.58 in the boys' 1500 meters at the Frosh/Soph Invitational, improving from 4:48.01 set in April 2026. Varricatt finished fourth of 18 competitors and ranks 61st in the state. He also ran a personal best 2:18.17 in the 800 meters, improving from 2:18.45.
Kili Williams (Kapaa) clocked 11.66 in the boys' 100 meters at Qualifying Meet #6, improving from 12.02. The sophomore finished second of 14 competitors and ranks 92nd in the state and eighth among sophomores.
Aileah Villatora (Kauai) ran 12.43 in the girls' 100 meters at Qualifying Meet #6, improving from 12.86. The senior won the event against 11 competitors and ranks seventh in the state and third among seniors.
Rayaan Genz (Hilo) ran 2:11.59 in the boys' 800 meters at the Frosh/Soph Invitational, improving from 2:14.76 set in April 2026. Genz finished third of 16 competitors and ranks 80th in the state.
