3 Meet Records fall at 65th Punahou Relays Finals

The Punahou Girls won an impressive 7 relay events at Saturday's Finals of the 65th Punahou Relays at Alexander Field.

 

The Buffanblu girls won the 4x100m shuttle hurdles (1:08.2h), 4x200m Relay (1:47.99), Distance Medley (13:03.68), 1600 Sprint Medley (4:22.28), 4x100m Relay (49.45), 4x800m Relay (10:09.20) and the 4x400m Relay (4:01.41)

 

Meet Records were broken in the Girls 4x180 Yard Shuttle Hurdles (Kahuku 1:39.0h), Girls 4x100m Relay (Punahou 49.45) and Girls 4x400m Relay (Punahou 4:01.41).

 

The Buffanblu Boys picked up wins in the 4x110m Shuttle Hurdles (1:06.3h), 4x200m Relay (1:30.05), 4x180 Yard Shuttle Hurdles (1:25.3h) and 4x400m Relay (3:22.18)

 

Hawaii Prep SR Ku'uipo Nakoa doubled in the Long (17-07.75) and Triple Jumps (36-04), eeking out the long jump win over Kahuku FR Kayla Taulapapa (HI#3 17-07) and third place finisher Kahuku JR Zhane Santiago (17-02.75).

 

Other notable performances from Saturday's Finals include:

-Kalaheo SR Zachary Lovelace who cleared 6-6 for the HI#1 in the Boys High Jump
-Kaimuki SR Vaioleti Mikaele improved on her HI#1 by almost 10 feet in the Girls Discus (136-2)
-Baldwin SO Kristine Felix, who tied her HI#1 winning the Girls Pole Vault by clearing 10-6
-Iolani SR Troy Conant earned his victory in the Boys Pole Vault (13-6) over St Anthony's Ethan Kim, who also cleared (13-6)
-Kamehameha SO Savannah Marote won the Girls High Jump (5-2), followed by Punahou SO Christine Tsai, who also cleared 5-2. Tsai later placed second in the Girls Triple Jump (35-1)
