The Gatorade Company with Collaboration from ESPN Rise has named freshman Elli Brady (Punahou School) and junior Pierce Murphy (Island School) Gatorade Players of the Year for Hawaii.
The award is given to a player who not only shows excellence in their sport but also in the classroom. The athletes must also show strong character on and off the course.
Eli Brady placed third in the Kaiser Cross Country Invitational and won the Hawaii State Championships running the course to a PR of 18:53.85.
Pierce Murphy won the KIF Cross Country Invitational and took 2nd at the HHSAA State Championships. As a freshman Murphy broke 3 KIF track records in one meet.
